Lunch & Refreshments
Our Centre is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday where you can get a 2-course meal which is served between 12:15pm and 1245pm.
Our lunches cost £7 for a main, pudding, hot and cold drink. During winter we offer a special price on a Wednesday of only £5.
We are also open for lunch on the LAST Sunday of every month. It is £8.00 for a 2-course meal and booking is essential.
If you prefer, you can enjoy a light snack and drink from our snack bar which is open from 8:30am to 3:30pm

Hot Meal Delivery Service
Enjoy a hot meal delivery service from Riverside Community Hub.
We offer a 2 course hot meal delivered to your door Monday – Friday for £7.00, plus a delivery charge of £1.00 per address.
Meals are delivered between 11:30am – 1pm and are made using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
Our friendly delivery drivers are all DBS checked and will always check-in with you or your family to ensure they happy and safe.
The meals are designed to be healthy, balanced and nutritious and catered to your specific needs.
If you would like a tea it can be added for a additional £4.00 and consists of a sandwich of your choice plus four other items such as fruit, cake, crisps and yoghurt.
We also provide vegetarian and gluten free meals on request.

Who we are
The Riverside Community Hub is an independent local charity Hub for the residents of Dover.
Our dedicated staff and volunteers enable us to offer a range of services in Dover and the surrounding rural areas. We offer social opportunities, activities, lunches and a snack bar Monday to Friday, as well as other essential services for the whole community.

The Riverside Centre Charity Shop
The Riverside Centre Charity shop is located in Biggin Street, Dover.
The proceeds from our shop go directly to Riverside Community Hub to help provide the support that we offer.
The shop has many different items for sale such as men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, toys and games, home furnishings, bric a brac, books and much much more.
We regularly post to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with special offers, promotions and stock.
Donations
We are unable to accept donations currently. We hope to be able to soon.

Meet the Dementia & Me team
Our Dementia Co-Ordinatiors are a single point of contact for help and support for all things dementia related across the area and will be able to visit you in your own home, create a support plan, and offer a wide range of support and advice.

These sessions are informal gatherings for anyone who may need support, information or advice about all aspects of dementia. Join us for advice, a cuppa, or just a chat at Riverside Community Hub on the first Wednesday of every month from 10am until 12pm.
Carers Coffee Mornings
Join us on the first Friday of every month from 10am until 12pm for advice, a cuppa, or just a chat . The coffee mornings are informal gatherings for anyone who may need support, information or advice about all aspects of dementia and to meet other carers to share experience

Demnetia day activities
Memory Meadows is a safe space for those living with Dementia and any other memory related condition.
A friendly environment that welcome’s you to meet others, socialise and participate in activities.
Our service provides carers and family members the much-needed time for themselves, while we provide stimulating activities to their loved ones.
Our programme is designed to engage participants in a variety of enriching activities and social interaction such as:
- art therapy
- music sessions
- gentle exercises
- cognitive games
All tailored to their unique abilities and interests.
This service is currently available every Friday 10am – 3pm and costs £45 including lunch.

Dementia & Me Co-ordinators will be a single point of contact for help and support for all things dementia across the area and will be able to visit you in your own home, create a support plan, and offer a wide range of support and advice.
Our Dementia & Me Co-Ordinators can help you:
- Develop an adaptive support plan to help you manage changing needs throughout the dementia journey
- Highlight the importance of a diagnosis and attend Memory Assessment appointments with you and your carer
- Identify and arrange access to appropriate support groups for your diagnosis, offering support to take the first steps in these settings
- By offering emotional support and advice around diagnosis and difficulties arising from dementia symptoms
- Understand the services available locally and refer to and signpost to a wide variety of organisations with specialist expertise in dementia support or for other support needs
Although your co-ordinator may help you find more specialist advice in some instances, your assigned co-ordinator will remain with you throughout the process and act as a single point of contact, so you don’t have to see a different person for every problem you may encounter.

Foot Care Service
Riverside Community Hub offers a foot health and foot care service.riverside-centre-dover-footcare-services
Our fully qualified and insured Foot Care Practitioners provide a comprehensive foot health and foot care service including treatment for sufferers of Diabetes Mellitus.
Treatments include:
- Nail cutting
- Corns
- Callus
- Fungal nail
- Cracked heels
- Diabetes foot check
The clinics are held daily from 9:00am
Appointments last 30 minutes and cost £23.00

* Non-attendance without a 24hr notice period will incur a charge of £5.
** Any treatments unable to be completed within 30 minutes will need a further appointment at a charge of £23.00.

There will be people to help here at the Centre , the Bechange Community Hub in Aylesham and at Age UK in Sandwich.
It may be that we are able to give you some immediate support, or you may need some longer-term assistance.
If we are not able to help you with a specific area that is concerning you then we will help you to access assistance from other agencies.

Come along and join the our Knit & Natter sessions, where you can chat and meet like minded people. Our informal groups welcome anyone interested in knitting and /or crocheting and all abilities are welcome. Some needles and wool will be available but it is advisable to bring your own along.

Bingo is a fantastic, easy game to play. Join us for a 6 page session, where you can play from just 1 book. We play for 1 line and a full house – prizes include chocolate bars for the line and prize money for the house. Drinks, cakes and snacks available from the snack bar.

AT THE CENTRE WE OFFER YOGA/SEATED YOGA, PILATES & TAI CHI
Keeping physically active in later life is important for many reasons, including to improve mental and physical wellbeing. Attending an exercise group also provides the opportunity to meet new people.
Here at The Riverside Centre we run a variety of fitness classes every week. We offer exercises that can be completed seated or standing, so everyone can take part regardless of their ability. Don’t worry if you haven’t exercised for a while, as all exercises can be completed at your own pace.

Hearing Clinic
Our Centre offers 2 free hearing clinics each week where you can get advice and support relating to hearing aids.
Hi kent are here every Wednesday 9am – 12pm
Hearbase are here every Fridays 9am – 12pm
Ear Syringing
Our centre offers an Ear Syringing service every Monday.
To make an appointment please call 01304 207268
There is a £5 consultation fee and if the ears need to be syringed there will be an additional cost of £35 for both ears.
Diabetes Peer to Peer support
If you, or someone you know, has diabetes and would like some support there are now two Peer to Peer support groups for over 18s. One is at Riverside Community Hub and one is in Deal Community Clinic. The meetings are once a month in the afternoon from 2pm until 4pm in Deal and now twice a month here at the Hub.
Music entertainment
The last Tuesday of every month from 11am – 12pm come along for some free live entertainment, we have different singers here to provide an hour of music and dancing.

Fundraising
We hold many different events through the year to help fundraise for our centre such as Summer and Christmas Fayres, Easter Lunches, Christmas Parties, Quiz evenings & music nights.
Funds raised go towards supporting the work that we do here at the centre, we could no do this without everyone joining in and raising awareness of the centre.
